Enterprise Finance & Credit Manager – National Position

About the role

The Enterprise Finance & Credit Manager will lead credit operations and portfolio management for Near East Foundation’s enterprise financing programs across Syria. The role combines strategic oversight of credit risk, fund liquidity, and product performance with day‑to‑day loan management to ensure sustainable impact.

Key responsibilities

• Track and analyse portfolio performance indicators such as repayment rates, PAR, default/write‑off rates, client retention and yield.
• Ensure appropriate provisioning for loan losses and advise on risk diversification to avoid over‑concentration.
• Oversee cash‑flow modelling, maintain liquidity buffers and manage the revolving fund health to support timely disbursements.
• Advise on portfolio composition, sectoral and geographical diversification, and implement risk‑mitigation mechanisms.
• Monitor trends and early warning signs, recommending responsive actions to mitigate delinquency spikes.
• Develop and deliver periodic performance dashboards and analysis for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
• Oversee end‑to‑end credit operations including loan origination, disbursement, repayment monitoring, restructuring and compliance.
• Review and approve loan applications in line with organisational policy and regulatory standards.
• Identify operational gaps, enhance procedures for efficiency and risk reduction, and coordinate with Finance for cash‑flow planning and reporting alignment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise finance, investment or credit management, preferably in emerging or crisis‑affected markets.
• Strong background in credit risk assessment, portfolio monitoring and fund liquidity management.
• Demonstrated ability to work with donors and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
• Ability to coordinate across finance, operations and program teams to achieve portfolio objectives.
