About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Finance Officer to manage budgeting, financial reporting and donor compliance for its Syria portfolio. The role supports grant budgeting, spending analysis and proposal development while collaborating with program and operations teams.
Key responsibilities
- Review budget spending, advise staff on over/under‑spending and ensure arithmetic accuracy.
- Prepare monthly Budget vs. Actual (BvA) reports and present spending status in Grant Review Meetings.
- Manage monthly allocation processes, timesheet allocations and pool cost charging files.
- Develop and adjust budget line coding, upload new budgets and realign existing budgets as needed.
- Prepare donor financial reports in required formats and ensure timely submission.
- Support grant opening, review and closing meetings and provide guidance on BvA queries.
Required profile
- College degree in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 3‑4 years experience in budgeting and grant finance management, preferably within an international organization.
- Experience working with multiple donors and adhering to donor compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
