Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Officer

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (MER) Officer will support The Day After’s programmes across Syria by ensuring robust, results‑based monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Reporting to the Funding and Reporting Manager, the role combines office‑based work in Damascus with remote and field coordination as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks for donor‑funded programmes.
• Collect, analyse and verify data to track performance and evidence results.
• Prepare regular MER reports that demonstrate donor compliance and inform adaptive learning.
• Coordinate with field locations and travel to governorates when required to gather information.
• Maintain documentation and knowledge‑sharing platforms for the organisation’s MER activities.

Required profile

• Experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting within an NGO or humanitarian context.
• Familiarity with donor reporting requirements and results‑based management.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple locations.
• Willingness to travel within Syria as programme needs dictate.
