Partnership & Delivery Unit (PDU) Manager

About the role

The Partnership & Delivery Unit (PDU) Manager will lead the technical implementation, partner coordination and strategic planning for the Aid Fund for Syria (AFS) programme. Based in Damascus, the role oversees a multi‑million‑dollar portfolio, ensuring high‑quality delivery and strengthening AFS’s impact across the Syrian response.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in grant kick‑off meetings and act as the primary point of contact for all grant‑related activities.
• Ensure partners adhere to AFS manuals, guidelines and reporting standards.
• Provide technical guidance to partners on integrated sectoral interventions during proposal development and implementation.
• Review quarterly, inception, financial and final narrative reports submitted through the Grant Management System (GMS) for quality and compliance.
• Monitor grant timelines, budgets and deliverables to guarantee timely and effective implementation.
• Coordinate with internal technical experts, donors, UN agencies and civil‑society organisations to align activities with the Humanitarian‑Development‑Peace nexus.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale humanitarian or development programmes, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong knowledge of grant management processes and donor compliance requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across governments, NGOs and UN bodies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and deliver results under tight deadlines.
