Psychosocial Counsellor – Daily Paid (Grade 10) – Ramadan Area

About the role

UNRWA, the United Nations agency supporting Palestine refugees, seeks a Psychosocial Counsellor for its Field Education Programme in the Ramadan Area. The incumbent will report to the Head of Area Education Officer and work directly with refugees to promote mental health and well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate action plans at the functional location level.
• Provide individual and group counselling, including home visits when needed.
• Coordinate activities with contracted NGOs and expand community resource networks.
• Design and deliver community awareness activities on mental health, psychosocial well‑being, and child development.
• Plan and implement rapid crisis‑intervention measures, mobilising counsellors across the region.
• Prepare monthly reports and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• University degree in psychology, social work or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in psychosocial counselling.
• Fluency in English and Arabic at UN Level II (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

What we offer

• Daily rate of 27.12 USD (Grade 10).
• 1 day of annual leave and 1 day of sick leave for each completed month of service.
