QC Inspector/Surveyor for Data Center Projects – Damascus

About the role

The CME QC Inspector/Surveyor will perform on‑site quality assurance and control inspections for civil, mechanical and electrical works within a national data‑center programme. Acting as the client’s independent engineer, you will verify that construction complies with approved designs, standards such as TIA‑942, and maintain records for a clean handover.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect civil, structural, mechanical and electrical works against drawings and specifications, referencing TIA‑942, ASHRAE and NFPA codes.
• Conduct independent setting‑out and survey checks (levels, dimensions, alignments, as‑built) using total station and auto‑level instruments.
• Check material and mill‑test certificates against approved submittals before incorporation.
• Witness and sign‑off Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) hold points across all disciplines.
• Verify earthing and grounding works, including earth‑continuity and resistance testing.
• Witness and record commissioning and acceptance tests through Level 1‑5 sequences.
• Raise Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any deviations and track them to closure.
• Maintain punch lists, re‑inspect rectified items and ensure sign‑off.
• Ensure site work follows safety rules, permit‑to‑work and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Organise quality records and provide daily/weekly inspection reports to the manager.
• Coordinate inspection schedules with contractors and supervision teams to prevent un‑witnessed work.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent trade certification with strong site experience.
• 3‑5 years of site QA/QC, field inspection or survey experience on building, MEP or infrastructure projects.
• Exposure to data‑center or mission‑critical environments is an advantage.
• Recognised construction safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA 30) required or strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with survey instruments (total station, auto‑level) and ability to read construction and MEP drawings.
• Familiarity with quality documentation and acceptance codes such as ACI 318, BS EN, etc.
