Registered Nurse – Humanitarian Health Services

About the role

The Independent Doctors Association (IDA) seeks a dedicated Nurse to join its humanitarian health team in Alraqaa, Syria. You will provide high‑quality clinical care to displaced and host‑community patients while supporting the organization’s mission to deliver essential health services in conflict‑affected areas.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver medication administration, wound dressing, injections and intravenous therapy following best‑practice protocols.
• Maintain hygiene standards, including medical waste segregation and hand‑washing procedures.
• Record and manage patient medical information accurately.
• Accompany physicians on rounds, implement treatment instructions, and coordinate referrals.
• Follow‑up with patients to monitor health, nutrition, and hygiene needs.
• Support data collection and reporting for health indicators.
• Supervise cleaning staff and ensure compliance with waste‑management regulations.
• Participate in daily nursing meetings and weekly multidisciplinary staff meetings.
• Report security concerns, infection risks, or any issues affecting patient care to the Head Nurse.
• Uphold patient rights, confidentiality, and a respectful care environment.

Required profile

• Valid nursing certificate.
• Minimum three years of nursing experience, including at least two years as a licensed nurse.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Capacity to work effectively under pressure in a humanitarian setting.
