Safeguarding and Safe, Inclusive and Transformative Programming (SITP) Manager – Damascus

About the role

The Safeguarding and Safe, Inclusive and Transformative Programming (SITP) Manager will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of safeguarding and inclusive programming for the International Rescue Committee’s operations in Damascus. The role ensures that all programmes protect beneficiaries, promote safe environments and adhere to IRC’s safeguarding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, adapt and enforce safeguarding policies and procedures in line with international standards.
• Integrate safe, inclusive and transformative principles into programme planning and delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to staff and partners on protection and safeguarding issues.
• Monitor compliance, conduct risk assessments and oversee incident reporting mechanisms.
• Collaborate with programme teams, donors and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated protection responses.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safeguarding, protection or related fields within humanitarian contexts.
• Strong knowledge of international safeguarding standards and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and coordination abilities.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency preferred.
