Specialized Pediatrician – IDA, Northern Deir Alzoor

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Pediatrician to join the Independent Doctors Association (IDA) at the Abu Khashab Primary Health Center in Northern Deir Alzoor, Syria. The role involves delivering high‑quality child health services within a humanitarian setting and supporting the health team in emergency and routine care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide competent pediatric consultations and treatments according to the schedule set by the Health Coordinator.
• Supervise adherence to national and international treatment guidelines among all physicians.
• Respond to emergencies, organise centre activities and document additional treatments.
• Participate in vaccination campaigns and contribute to weekly and monthly health reports.
• Train and guide medical and nursing staff, and take part in daily medical rounds and coordination meetings.
• Report security concerns, potential disease outbreaks and any other relevant information to the Health and Program Coordinators.
• Uphold patient confidentiality, rights and dignity while following humanitarian and protection principles.
• Perform any other duties within medical expertise as directed by the Medical Director.

Required profile

• Pediatric specialist with a minimum of seven years of experience, including residency.
• Commitment to humanitarian standards, including the Code of Conduct, PSEA and Child Protection policies.
• Ability to work in a conflict‑affected environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
