Vocational Education Assistant (Daily Paid) – Damascus

About the role

The Vocational Education Assistant supports UNRWA’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes in the Damascus area, reporting to the Chief of Technical and Vocational Education Training. The role coordinates project cycles, conducts market surveys and links trainees with employment opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the full intervention cycle of vocational education projects, including on‑the‑job training and placement services.
• Conduct market surveys to identify in‑demand specialisations and build networks with employers to capture vacancy information.
• Advertise and register applicants for technical courses, communicate available vacancies to trainees, and monitor their progress.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date database, prepare progress reports and employment statistics for TVET management.
• Collect success stories and perform other duties as assigned by senior staff.

Required profile

• Two‑year diploma in economics, project management, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum two years’ experience in educational, community‑based or youth projects and at least two years of office practice.
• Fluency in English and Arabic at UN Level II (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

• Daily rate of 25.63 USD for up to three months, with possible extension based on performance and funding.
