Asset Management Specialist

About the role

The Asset Management Specialist will support the asset management workstream for a telecom environment in Damascus. The role focuses on capturing, validating, updating and reconciling asset records from field surveys, inventory systems and implementation evidence.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and maintain detailed asset records (site, room, rack, shelf, slot, card, port, serial number, model, vendor, tag, status, evidence references).
• Validate survey outputs against inventory, CMDB, asset registers and as‑built documentation.
• Identify and report missing, duplicate, inconsistent, untagged, misplaced or unknown assets.
• Apply naming conventions, tagging rules, mandatory fields, lifecycle statuses and data‑entry standards.
• Prepare clean upload templates, discrepancy lists, evidence packs and progress reports for SME review.
• Coordinate with field technicians, site teams, inventory specialists and operations to close asset record gaps.
• Support asset movement, assignment, de‑commissioning, retirement and reconciliation activities.
• Maintain traceability of data changes and ensure records are audit‑ready while following site safety and confidentiality rules.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Telecom, IT or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in telecom asset management, physical inventory, CMDB/ITAM data operations or field‑survey support.
• Strong understanding of telecom/network equipment hierarchy (racks, shelves, cards, ports, labels, serial numbers).
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
• Familiarity with ITIL Foundation, ISO 55000 awareness and CMDB/ITAM platform training is a plus.
