Financial Coordinator – Syria

About the role

Secours Islamique France, an international humanitarian NGO, is seeking a Financial Coordinator to support its mission in Damascus, Syria. Reporting to the Head of Mission, you will lead the finance team and contribute to the mission’s operational strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse operational challenges and propose financial solutions to support decision‑making.
• Oversee accounting procedures, ensure accurate data entry and maintain reliable financial records.
• Prepare and monitor project and annual budgets, tracking expenditures against plans.
• Define, update and implement cash‑management procedures, including bank reconciliations and fund transfers.
• Supervise recruitment and performance of finance staff within the mission.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance coordination or accounting, preferably in an NGO or humanitarian context.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience preparing and managing budgets.
• Knowledge of cash management, bank reconciliation and fund transfer processes.
• Ability to lead and develop a finance team.
