Human Resources Coordinator

About the role

The Human Resources Coordinator is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Damascus, supporting the delivery of HR services for SOS Children’s Villages Syria. The role involves a mix of administrative, recruitment, and employee‑relations tasks within a mission‑driven, child‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with HR administration, maintain employee records, and prepare HR documentation.
• Support recruitment processes: post vacancies, screen applications, coordinate interviews, and onboard new staff.
• Help implement HR policies, manage benefits administration, and address routine employee inquiries.
• Coordinate trainings, workshops, and staff engagement initiatives while ensuring compliance with internal regulations and Syrian labor law.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in the nonprofit or humanitarian sector and familiarity with Syrian labor law is advantageous.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills in Arabic; English proficiency is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems.
• Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
