About the role
Second Step is recruiting an experienced Internal Audit Manager on behalf of one of its clients in Syria. The position is based in Damascus and covers the planning, execution and reporting of internal audits.
Key responsibilities
- Lead financial, operational and governance audit activities.
- Oversee internal audit planning, execution and reporting.
- Evaluate internal controls, risk management and compliance processes.
- Develop audit strategies, team KPIs and performance objectives.
- Manage and develop the internal audit team to ensure operational efficiency.
Required profile
- 10+ years of internal audit experience, including at least 5 years in leadership positions.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics; MBA or equivalent.
- CIA certification is required.
- CPA, CISA, CFE or Syrian Chartered Accountant certification is a plus.
