Socio-Economic Data Analyst

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) seeks a Socio‑Economic Data Analyst on a 6‑month consultancy to support camp improvement planning in Syria. The role involves leading socio‑economic surveys, analysing data, and integrating findings into the Camp Improvement Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and management of socio‑economic surveys for camp improvement projects.
• Supervise consultants and coordinate with project teams and local communities to ensure quality deliverables.
• Analyse large data sets using statistical tools and integrate results with thematic areas of the Camp Improvement Plan.
• Develop and maintain GIS datasets to map socio‑economic indicators.
• Collaborate with UNRWA health, education and social services departments to gather and share relevant data.
• Conduct impact, shelter and post‑occupancy assessments for implemented projects.
• Provide technical support for pre‑feasibility studies, monitoring indicators and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• University degree in social studies, economics, statistics or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in planning and implementing socio‑economic projects.
• Proven experience analysing large socio‑economic data sets with statistical software.
• Experience with participatory data collection and community engagement.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
