Transport Assistant

About the role

The Transport Assistant supports the Transport Section of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) at Camp Faouar. Reporting to the Transport Officer, the incumbent ensures the smooth management of expendable items, vehicle maintenance supplies, and related administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage expendable items, spare parts and lubricants for the transport workshops.
• Prepare requisitions and coordinate with Supply Chain Management for resupply of stores.
• Receive, inspect, codify and record incoming goods in the UMOJA inventory system.
• Maintain driving permits, monitor vehicle functionality and generate discrepancy reports.
• Determine minimum‑maximum stock levels, alert supervisor of shortages, and create budget and audit reports.
• Process I‑Need requests, conduct physical inventory checks and produce inventory reports.
• Drive UN vehicles, monitor attendance, record liberty mileage and prepare transport‑related documentation.
• Support the CTO with attendance monitoring and other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Professional knowledge of property management and UN financial rules.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and interpret diverse data sets.
• Analytical skills for data modeling and decision‑support.
• Commitment to UN gender equality and diversity goals.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the UMOJA inventory management system.
• Familiarity with CARLOG vehicle monitoring tools.
• Experience in preparing requisitions and handling POL (Petroleum, Oil, Lubricants) products.
