Humanitarian Response Coordinator

About the role

Trócaire, an international NGO, is looking for a Humanitarian Response Coordinator to lead and support its humanitarian programmes in Northeast Syria. Based in Aleppo, the role will work closely with local partner organisations to deliver lifesaving assistance and ensure compliance with protection standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation of humanitarian and lifesaving projects in Northeast Syria.
• Maintain regular in‑person follow‑up with implementing partners to monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Ensure project activities meet humanitarian and protection standards.
• Support the collection, consolidation and quality‑checking of partner reports and documentation.
• Assist with budget reviews, forecasts and compliance reporting.
• Help develop country and programme strategies with the Head of Programmes, embedding accountability and protection.
• Lead the finalisation and execution of Trócaire’s humanitarian response strategy for the region.
• Support design and implementation of protection programmes, including basic protection services and psychosocial support.
• Ensure partners adhere to reporting schedules and budgetary requirements.
• Prepare and submit programme documents such as concept notes, proposals, budgets and reports.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating humanitarian projects in conflict‑affected settings.
• Familiarity with international humanitarian and protection standards.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with local partner organisations.
• Strong monitoring, reporting and budgeting skills.
