Acceptance Handover Manager – Damascus

About the role

The Acceptance Handover Manager will lead the planning, execution and control of the acceptance and hand‑over process for a data‑centre and technical buildings project in Damascus. Acting as the focal point between construction, testing & commissioning and operations, the role ensures that all systems are inspected, tested and documented before the facility is handed over to the client.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the acceptance and hand‑over plan, defining stages, criteria and documentation requirements.
• Review contractor testing and commissioning plans, method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for compliance.
• Coordinate and witness FAT, SAT and Integrated Systems Tests (IST) for power, cooling, fire detection & suppression, ELV/BMS and other critical infrastructure.
• Verify completed works against approved drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
• Manage snagging and punch‑list processes, track progress and verify close‑out.
• Control compilation and review of acceptance documentation: test records, calibration certificates, warranties, As‑Built drawings, O&M manuals, spare‑parts lists and training records.
• Chair acceptance and hand‑over meetings, track actions and ensure closure.
• Plan and coordinate partial or phased hand‑overs and oversee training of client operations staff.
• Prepare acceptance certificates, hand‑over packs and close‑out reports for client sign‑off.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years experience in construction, testing & commissioning or hand‑over of major projects.
• At least 5 years experience in acceptance or hand‑over management for data‑centres, mission‑critical facilities or mega‑infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of data‑centre critical systems and their testing/acceptance requirements.
