Acceptance Handover Manager – Data Centre/Facility

About the role

The Acceptance Handover Manager is responsible for planning, managing and controlling the acceptance and handover process of data‑centre and technical building projects. The role ensures that all works and systems are inspected, tested and verified against contractual, design and performance requirements before the facility is handed over to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the project acceptance and handover plan, defining stages, criteria, responsibilities and documentation needs.
• Review contractor testing and commissioning plans, method statements and Inspection & Test Plans to ensure alignment with acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate and witness factory, site and integrated systems tests for critical infrastructure such as power, cooling, fire detection, suppression and ELV/BMS systems.
• Manage snagging and punch‑list processes, track progress and verify close‑out of items.
• Control the compilation and review of acceptance documentation, including test records, calibration certificates, warranties, as‑built drawings, O&M manuals and training records.
• Chair acceptance and handover meetings with contractors, consultants, clients and operations teams, and follow up on agreed actions.
• Plan and coordinate partial or phased handovers and ensure seamless interfaces between construction, testing and operations.
• Oversee training delivery for client operations and maintenance staff and document the training outcomes.
• Prepare acceptance certificates, handover packs and close‑out reports for client sign‑off.
• Maintain the acceptance register and report readiness, risks and outstanding items to the Senior Project Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction, testing, commissioning or handover of major projects.
• At least 5 years of experience managing acceptance or handover for data centres, mission‑critical facilities or large‑scale infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of data‑centre critical systems and their testing/acceptance requirements.
