Accountant – Automotive Industry

About the role

We are seeking a qualified and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our automotive trading business in Syria. The role will support daily accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate records across purchases, sales, inventory and cash management.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate daily accounting transactions, including journal entries, payment and receipt vouchers.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, prepare supplier and customer statements, and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Perform regular bank, cash, customer and supplier reconciliations and verify supporting documentation for invoices and payments.
• Coordinate with procurement, sales, logistics and warehouse teams on financial transactions.
• Monitor vehicle and spare‑parts purchases and sales from an accounting perspective.
• Support inventory accounting, reconcile physical inventory with accounting records, and record inventory movements.
• Prepare daily and monthly cash reports, assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, and produce monthly accounting and management reports.
• Assist with payroll accounting, tax, statutory, audit and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in automotive, vehicle trading, spare‑parts, dealership or trading companies is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliation.
