Asset Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Telecom

About the role

The Asset Management SME will act as the technical authority for telecom asset identification and lifecycle management. You will define standards, govern data requirements, and ensure audit‑ready asset information across the network and site assets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce asset management standards, including naming conventions, tagging, serial/model capture, and location hierarchy.
• Provide technical guidance for classification of telecom and datacenter equipment such as chassis, shelves, cards, modules, optics, and power systems.
• Lead quality assurance activities for asset surveys, including sampling reviews, discrepancy analysis, and corrective action tracking.
• Coordinate with field teams, engineering, inventory specialists, vendors, procurement, finance, and operations to align asset records.
• Maintain reconciliation logic between physical surveys, CMDB, ERP registers, purchase records, and operational systems.
• Support lifecycle processes: creation, movement, assignment, transfer, decommissioning, retirement, disposal, and evidence retention.
• Prepare and monitor KPIs, exception reports, data‑quality dashboards, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with governance standards, safety requirements, and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, IT, Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–12+ years of experience in telecom asset management, network audit, physical inventory, CMDB administration, ITAM, DCIM or OSS inventory systems.
• Strong technical expertise in identifying telecom and datacenter equipment by vendor, model, chassis, module, serial number and location attributes.
