Conflict Sensitivity, Community Governance & Participatory Implementation Consultancy

About the role

Mercy Corps is seeking an experienced consultant to provide technical support for the final phase of the RENEW Project in Syria. The role focuses on strengthening conflict‑sensitive implementation, facilitating participatory decision‑making, and enhancing collaborative planning among communities, local authorities, and project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver conflict‑sensitive facilitation and participatory community engagement for Result 3 activities across seven sub‑districts.
• Support inclusive decision‑making processes and coordinate stakeholder interactions to improve transparency of interventions.
• Leverage project documentation and virtual tools to conduct remote assessments and gather data.
• Work closely with Mercy Corps field teams to ensure accurate information flow and effective facilitation where on‑the‑ground support is needed.
• Provide recommendations to finalize governance and community engagement components before project closure.

Required profile

• Proven experience in conflict‑affected settings, community governance, or participatory development.
• Ability to work remotely and manage virtual stakeholder engagements.
• Strong analytical and coordination skills to synthesize project data and facilitate inclusive processes.
