Construction Manager – Airside

About the role

UCC Holding is seeking an experienced Construction Manager – Airside to lead the execution of major airport airside construction works for the Damascus International Airport EPC Project. The role involves managing site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors and specialist contractors, monitoring progress, maintaining quality and HSE standards, and ensuring successful completion and handover of assigned airside packages.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day airside construction activities, including runway, taxiway, apron and aircraft stand works.
• Coordinate earthworks, pavement, drainage and associated airport infrastructure.
• Supervise subcontractors, specialist contractors, manpower, equipment and material resources.
• Monitor construction progress against approved programmes and update schedules.
• Handle IFC drawings, RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
• Ensure compliance with method statements, ITPs and project specifications.
• Lead site QA/QC implementation and resolve non‑conformances.
• Maintain strict HSE and airside construction safety compliance.
• Coordinate interfaces between civil works and specialist airport systems.
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging, as‑built documentation and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of overall construction experience, including 7+ years in senior construction management roles.
• Direct airport construction experience, specifically airside works such as runways, taxiways, aprons and aircraft stands.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and specialist aviation contractors on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of airport airside construction standards and practices.
