Credit Officer – Revolving Credit Fund

About the role

The Near East Foundation is seeking a Credit Officer to support its revolving credit fund for entrepreneurs in northern Syria. Reporting to the Credit Manager, you will assess loan applications, manage day‑to‑day lending operations, and help strengthen the portfolio’s performance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct credit assessments using financial, operational and market indicators.
• Maintain accurate documentation of credit reports, loan applications and supporting files.
• Coordinate daily lending operations and support loan‑processing mechanisms.
• Ensure compliance with legal, donor and internal lending guidelines.
• Implement collection strategies to minimize delinquency and promote sustainable repayment.
• Collaborate with field teams for borrower verification, business assessments and post‑disbursement monitoring.
• Assist with loan rescheduling and restructuring to sustain portfolio health.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in micro‑finance institutions or the banking sector.
• Strong understanding of MSME loan products and credit analysis.
• Experience in agricultural lending is highly preferred.
