Design Director – Masterplanned Communities

About the role

ARADA is seeking an experienced Design Director to lead the design management of large‑scale master‑planned communities and mixed‑use developments across Syria. Reporting to the Design function, you will work closely with Development, Project Controls, Commercial and Delivery teams to ensure every project meets the highest standards of design quality, commercial viability and brand consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design management for multiple residential, hospitality, retail, commercial and mixed‑use projects from feasibility through construction support.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants, conduct design reviews and resolve cross‑disciplinary conflicts.
• Establish design governance, quality assurance processes and technical compliance across all developments.
• Embed sustainability and ESG principles, targeting green‑building certifications such as Mostadam and LEED.
• Provide design input for feasibility studies, highest‑and‑best‑use analyses and master‑planning to optimise GFA, saleable and leasable area efficiency.
• Manage consultant procurement, budgets, fee proposals and certify variations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading design teams on large‑scale master‑planned or mixed‑use projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial objectives, buildability and cost efficiency.
• Ability to work collaboratively with development, commercial and delivery stakeholders.
• Experience with sustainability frameworks and green‑building certification processes.
