Enterprise Architect (Damascus, Syria)

About the role

This senior position is based in Damascus and focuses on defining and governing the architecture of a large‑scale enterprise business platform. The role ensures that business goals, application design, data flows, integration, security, and infrastructure are aligned and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the end‑to‑end enterprise architecture blueprint.
• Define target architecture across business, application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure layers.
• Lead architecture governance, technical design reviews, and decision‑making processes.
• Ensure the platform meets enterprise‑scale requirements for availability, performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Review high‑level and low‑level designs, integration plans, data migration approaches, and operational readiness.
• Support integration with ERP, IAM, telecom/network systems and guide legacy system migration or decommissioning.
• Identify architecture risks, technical debt, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with business owners, security, infrastructure, data, application teams, vendors, and architecture review boards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in enterprise architecture, telecom infrastructure, or large‑scale platform delivery.
• Strong understanding of telecom operations, governance and service delivery.
• Experience with large transformation programs in the Middle East or Asia is a plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with enterprise platforms such as Odoo, ERPNext, Oracle EBS/Fusion, SAP, ServiceNow or Maximo.
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks (TOGAF) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency with container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Certifications such as ITIL, PMP or PRINCE2 are desirable.
