GBV Case Worker – Al-Hasakeh

About the role

The GBV Case Worker will support CARE’s protection programmes in Al‑Hasakeh by identifying gender‑based violence (GBV) risks, delivering community awareness messages and ensuring vulnerable groups are included in project activities. Working under the direct supervision of the Protection Assistant and guided by the PWGIE Officer, the role involves day‑to‑day engagement with the community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct women’s group (WG) and VAWG safety audits in the targeted area to assess and document risks.
• Identify protection‑related needs and develop key messages for community sessions.
• Build positive relationships with community members and promote their participation in CARE programmes.
• Facilitate focus groups and community meetings to gather feedback and raise awareness on GBV.
• Support the Protection Assistant in planning and implementing protection activities.

Required profile

• Experience working on protection or GBV programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to conduct safety audits and collect protection data.
• Strong communication skills for delivering awareness messages.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with community members and CARE staff.
