GCF Project Manager - Syria Country Office (National)

About the role

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) Project Manager provides country-level coordination and project management support for the GCF Project Preparation Facility (PPF) and the preparation of the full GCF project for Syria. Based in the Syria Country Office in Damascus, with travel to relevant locations as required, the post holder coordinates PPF activities and assessments with Save the Children, the Government of Syria, ministries, local partners, consultants and other stakeholders. The role is fixed term for 9 months, grade 2, and carries Level 3 child safeguarding responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate PPF activities and assessments at country level according to the approved workplan, budget and timelines, and maintain a detailed implementation tracker
• Organise workshops, consultations and technical meetings, including invitations, agendas, materials and documentation of outputs
• Support engagement with government ministries, authorities and national stakeholders, including validation processes and required clearances
• Mobilise and manage consultants and technical experts, monitoring their workplans and deliverables
• Monitor data collection, maintain a tracker of evidence and support documentation of lessons learned
• Prepare internal progress updates and coordination reports, and maintain a risk and issue tracker
• Coordinate logistics and administrative arrangements, including procurement and travel for consultants

The post holder reports to the Operations Director, has no direct line management responsibility, and works closely with the Climate Resilience Global and Member Technical Advisors and other countries in the proposal.
