Loan Coordinator – National Position

About the role

The Near East Foundation (NEF) is seeking a Loan Coordinator for its Syria program, based in Aleppo. The role involves implementing loan financing activities, supervising field teams, and ensuring compliance with lending policies.

Key responsibilities

• Implement financing activities for loans and non‑financial services according to approved plans.
• Manage loan application studies, technical follow‑up, and coordinate monthly work plans with loan officers and the center director.
• Conduct frequent field visits (≈50% travel) to supervise progress, verify implementation quality, and support capacity‑building trainings.
• Monitor loan portfolio performance, follow up on late payments, and prepare related reports.
• Ensure compliance with lending policies, procedures, and relevant laws, and provide technical support to lending officials.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in microcredit, micro‑finance or economic project management.
• Experience managing field teams and supervising operational activities.
• Strong knowledge of lending systems, financial portfolio management and customer verification procedures.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and make decisions based on performance indicators.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, and effective communication skills.
