Maintenance Manager - Construction & Civil Engineering

About the role

UCC Holding is looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance, reliability and operational availability of heavy construction and civil‑engineering equipment on the Damascus Airport EPC project. The role oversees workshops, mobile service teams and the entire equipment fleet to ensure high performance throughout the construction programme.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall construction equipment maintenance strategy, including preventive, predictive and corrective programmes.
• Manage workshops, field maintenance and mobile service teams, coordinating with procurement, OEMs and specialist contractors.
• Plan and supervise major overhauls, refurbishments and repairs of heavy machinery, generators, compressors and project vehicles.
• Monitor equipment availability, utilisation, downtime, repair costs and performance KPIs, and produce regular reports.
• Maintain accurate equipment registers, maintenance records and ensure compliance with OEM requirements, project procedures and HSE standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of maintenance experience in construction, civil‑engineering or EPC projects.
• Proven experience managing heavy construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, rollers, cranes and dump trucks.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and electrical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive or Heavy Equipment Engineering.
• Fluent in English with strong leadership and troubleshooting abilities.
