Midwife (A) – Daily Paid Opportunity (All Areas) – Grade HL02

About the role

UNRWA is seeking a qualified Midwife (A) for a daily‑paid opportunity across all areas of its health centres in Syria. The incumbent will report to the Senior Staff Nurse and will deliver comprehensive maternal health services within the Family Health Team approach.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full maternal health care, including pre‑conception, antenatal, post‑natal, family planning, mental health counseling, and referrals for dental services.
• Perform periodic IUD insertions and follow‑up checks in accordance with host‑country regulations.
• Participate in cross‑cutting activities such as GBV and disability support to ensure integrated service delivery.
• Maintain high standards of infection control, manage medical waste, and ensure proper cleaning and sterilisation of instruments.
• Facilitate training and on‑the‑job learning for staff.
• Enter and maintain accurate data in the electronic medical records system and required registers.
• Track supplies, follow up with defaulters, and support home‑visit activities when needed.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
