Protection Team Leader – Daraa

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a Protection Team Leader for its operations in Daraa, Syria. Reporting to the DRC Syria Area Manager and under the technical supervision of the Protection Manager, you will oversee the delivery of protection activities and manage a small team of Protection Field Assistants.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure high‑quality and timely implementation of protection activities in line with DRC guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Support the recruitment and onboarding of protection field staff.
• Line‑manage Protection Field Assistants, providing technical guidance, oversight and performance monitoring.
• Address internal staffing issues and coordinate with the management team as needed.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in protection or humanitarian programmes, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Proven ability to supervise and support field staff.
• Familiarity with DRC protection standards, guidelines and SOPs.
