SharePoint Platform Engineer

About the role

The SharePoint Platform Engineer will lead the governance, optimisation and continuous improvement of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration services for a global non‑profit organisation. Working closely with platform administrators and the digital workplace experience team, you will translate business needs into secure, scalable, low‑code and custom solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform tenant‑level configuration, enforce governance policies and optimise platform performance.
• Design and maintain secure permission models, including SharePoint groups, Microsoft 365 Groups and role‑based access controls.
• Identify and remediate orphaned sites, unmanaged collaboration spaces and non‑compliant configurations.
• Develop and enforce SharePoint governance standards, operational procedures and templates.
• Create information architecture using metadata, term store, content types, site columns and modern SharePoint features.
• Review and optimise existing sites, libraries and lists to improve usability, adoption and search effectiveness.
• Design, implement and support workflow automation using SharePoint Lists, Power Automate, Forms alternatives and business rules.
• Build custom integrations and solutions with Power Platform, Microsoft Graph, SPFx and PowerShell while ensuring security and maintainability.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
• Strong understanding of governance, information architecture and content lifecycle management.
• Ability to translate business requirements into low‑code/no‑code and custom‑developed solutions.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver user‑centric productivity tools.
