Vice President - Water, Wastewater and Petroleum Infrastructure

About the role

Sun Valve Company, founded in 1960, supplies industrial valves, piping and jointing systems, metering and dosing equipment and heavy-duty infrastructure hardware to water, wastewater and petroleum projects in Syria and neighbouring markets. It is an authorized representative and distributor for international fluid equipment manufacturers. The Vice President is a full-time, on-site leadership position based in Damascus, overseeing strategic direction, commercial performance and operational excellence across the company's core markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead senior managers in sales, operations, logistics and technical support so they align with company growth objectives and global quality standards.
• Develop and implement business strategies and drive key customer and supplier relationships.
• Support major tenders and projects in water, wastewater and petroleum infrastructure.
• Review financial and operational metrics, guide resource allocation and oversee risk management and compliance.
• Support continuous improvement in supply chain reliability and technical service delivery.
• Mentor leadership teams, strengthen organisational capabilities and represent the company in high-level negotiations and industry forums.

Required profile

• Proven executive leadership experience in industrial, engineering, infrastructure or related sectors, managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field; a master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
• Experience in Middle Eastern or similar regional markets is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strategic planning, business development and commercial management, including key accounts, tenders and long-term contracts.
• Operations and supply chain management, including logistics coordination, inventory management and vendor relations.
• Advanced financial and analytical skills: budgeting, forecasting, performance measurement and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management, with the ability to work with international partners and local clients.
• Solid understanding of fluid handling systems, valves, piping or related technical products.
