Business Development Support Consultant – Northeast Syria

About the role

The Near East Foundation seeks a Business Development Support Consultant to strengthen the capacity of local partners in Northeast Syria. Over a three‑month period (up to 20 days), you will design and deliver workshops, coaching sessions, and tailored strategies that enable community‑based organisations to foster economic recovery and stability.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and develop capacity‑building plans for local business associations.
• Facilitate workshops on operational innovation, financial literacy, budgeting, and grant management.
• Provide one‑on‑one coaching to improve organisational sustainability and digital literacy.
• Promote the inclusion of women in economic activities through targeted interventions.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of training activities and adjust approaches as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, capacity building, or economic development within conflict‑affected or humanitarian settings.
• Strong understanding of agricultural value chains and local market dynamics.
• Experience working with NGOs or international development organisations.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
