Cashier

About the role

Syrian Professional Network is hiring a full-time, on-site Cashier in Latakia. The role covers accurate processing of customer transactions, handling cash, card and digital payments, issuing receipts and balancing the cash drawer at the end of each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers and answer basic questions about services or products
• Verify prices and apply discounts or promotions
• Handle cash, card and digital payments and issue receipts
• Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
• Reconcile daily sales reports and report discrepancies to a supervisor
• Work with colleagues to ensure efficient service and adherence to organizational policies

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in a cashier, retail or customer-facing role is beneficial
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle routine physical tasks related to cashiering

Required skills

• Numeracy, attention to detail and basic cash handling skills
• Customer service, active listening and interpersonal communication
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with point-of-sale systems, with the ability to learn new software
• Time management, reliability and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Integrity, respect for confidentiality and adherence to financial procedures
