Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management Teacher (Full-time)

About the role

Damascus High School is seeking a dynamic full-time teacher to lead its newly re-established Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management program. The role involves designing and delivering hands-on instruction in a modern commercial kitchen, preparing students for careers in the hospitality industry.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and deliver curriculum covering culinary techniques, food safety standards and restaurant operations.
• Supervise students in classroom, kitchen and related school settings.
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes, maintain accurate records and ensure proper use of equipment and facilities.
• Collaborate with the principal, staff, parents and community partners to support student success.
• Participate in school meetings, programs and activities as required by contract.

Required profile

• Secondary school diploma with at least five years recent full-time industry experience in culinary arts or a bachelor's degree in education with demonstrated industry experience.
• Ability to integrate technology and multicultural perspectives into instruction.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
