Customer Service Officer

About the role

The Customer Service Officer coordinates export and import documentation, tracks shipments, resolves client inquiries and manages billing follow‑ups. The role ensures smooth communication between customers, internal teams and overseas offices while identifying opportunities to add value through additional logistics services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute refund lists to relevant parties.
• Update mailing information in internal systems.
• Handle NMC requests from clients.
• Report and escalate client issues to the Head of Department.
• Create new client accounts and follow up on invoices.
• Track containers, prioritize transshipment ports and keep sales teams informed.
• Initiate and follow up lost Bill of Lading procedures for import and export.
• Assist clients with export bookings and coordinate with general clients.
• Provide weekly reports on “NO D/O” files and uncollected export B/Ls.
• Answer client phone calls and relay invoice and B/L copies as requested.
• Check detention, demurrage, container delivery dates and provide required WAYBILL or TELEX RELEASE forms.
• Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities for value‑added services.
• Lead projects and surveys launched by headquarters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a related logistics or shipping environment.
• Strong knowledge of shipping industry practices and CMA CGM services.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to learn quickly and work with integrity.
