Driver (Humanitarian Logistics)

About the role

The Fondation Hirondelle is seeking an experienced driver to transport its team safely and efficiently across Syria. The role supports humanitarian operations by ensuring reliable mobility for staff and mission-critical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide punctual, secure transportation for Fondation Hirondelle personnel to project sites, remote locations and offices.
• Maintain assigned vehicles in good working order, performing routine checks, minor repairs and coordinating servicing as needed.
• Plan routes using knowledge of local road conditions, security situations and Syrian traffic regulations.
• Document vehicle usage, fuel consumption and any incidents in accordance with organisational procedures.
• Assist with loading/unloading equipment and support logistical tasks when required.

Required profile

• Valid Syrian driver’s licence.
• Minimum five years of professional driving experience with a clean record.
• Experience in humanitarian or NGO environments is preferred.
• Fluent Arabic; English is desirable.
• Ability to travel to remote and potentially insecure locations.

Required skills

• Basic vehicle maintenance.
