Education Team Lead – Emergency & School Rehabilitation

About the role
World Vision International is seeking an Education Team Lead to manage its Education in Emergencies and school rehabilitation programme in Aleppo Governorate, Syria. Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the Protection Coordinator, the role oversees field‑level implementation, ensures compliance with donor (ECHO) requirements and safeguards, and coordinates with schools, local authorities and community partners.
Key responsibilities
- Lead weekly and monthly planning of field activities, including site visits and coordination with local authorities and school administrations.
- Supervise the Education Officer, WASH Engineer and other field staff, ensuring effective collaboration with MEAL, Logistics, Finance and Procurement teams.
- Ensure full compliance with ECHO donor requirements, national regulations and World Vision technical and safeguarding standards.
- Review and endorse purchase requests, bills of quantities and procurement documents against the approved budget and log‑frame.
- Monitor project sites regularly to assess activity quality, technical soundness and integration of education, WASH and protection components.
- Follow up on financial documentation and procurement processes until invoices are fully closed.
- Support the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and final narrative reports.
- Facilitate regular communication with community committees, parents and school administrations to keep activities relevant and well‑coordinated.
Required profile
- Proven experience in managing education programmes in emergency or humanitarian contexts.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary field teams.
- Good knowledge of donor compliance, especially ECHO guidelines, and safeguarding standards.
- Excellent coordination abilities with local authorities, schools and community stakeholders.
- Ability to produce high‑quality reports and documentation under tight deadlines.
