Electrical Engineer – Water & Irrigation Infrastructure

About the role

This position provides electrical engineering expertise for critical potable water supply and irrigation infrastructure projects. The Engineer will support design review, procurement, construction supervision, testing, commissioning and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with international standards and HSSE guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in needs assessments and design of power supply, pump, control and solar PV systems for water and irrigation projects.
• Prepare, verify and review electrical specifications, drawings, calculations, Bills of Quantities and tender documents.
• Analyse electrical and solar designs for compliance with project requirements and international standards.
• Conduct site inspections, produce detailed reports and identify progress, issues and lessons learned.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, training and hand‑over of electrical systems to beneficiaries.
• Monitor contractor compliance with Quality Management Plans, HSSE plans and best practices.
• Document stakeholder meetings, prepare minutes and track project schedule, budget and quality metrics.
• Support technical review and quality assurance of all design deliverables.

Required profile

• Electrical engineering background with experience in infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with international standards, HSSE guidelines and quality management procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
