Emergency / Pediatrics Resident Doctor

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Resident Doctor to join our Emergency and Pediatrics team at Al‑Mahabba Hospital in Afrin, Aleppo countryside, Syria. The role involves providing acute medical care to emergency and pediatric patients in a humanitarian setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage emergency and pediatric cases.
• Provide appropriate medical treatment and monitor patient response.
• Handle acute and critical situations, including resuscitation when needed.
• Order and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
• Develop treatment plans under specialist supervision and document all medical actions.
• Coordinate with medical and nursing teams while ensuring infection‑prevention and patient‑safety protocols.
• Participate in shift work and on‑call duties as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognized university.
• Residency training or enrollment in Emergency Medicine or Pediatrics.
• Valid medical license to practice.
• 0–2 years of clinical experience, preferably in emergency or pediatric departments.
• Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
