Finance Manager

About the role

World Vision International is seeking a Finance Manager for its Damascus office. The role provides strategic financial oversight across multiple funding streams, leads budgeting processes, and ensures compliance with donor and organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and present expenditure trends and variances for grants, projects and departmental costs.
• Coordinate reporting mechanisms with GC Shared Services and engage with donors, regional entities and World Vision senior officers.
• Monitor PBAS to confirm project income commitments and manage carry‑forwards.
• Develop and optimise grant and project budgets while maintaining overhead efficiency.
• Support annual planning, especially the support‑cost budget, in partnership with the Finance Director.
• Lead grant reporting discussions, ensure timely donor submissions and uphold compliance with WVI and donor requirements.
• Update approved budgets in Sun6 and align them with PBAS commitments.
• Oversee fund transfers to local partners, ensuring adherence to organisational and donor guidelines.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Significant experience in financial management within NGOs or similar organisations.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance, grant accounting and internal control systems.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• Excellent analytical skills and fluency in English.
