General Accountant

About the role

Our client, a Saudi‑based organization operating in Syria, is seeking a General Accountant to oversee daily financial operations, ensure accurate record‑keeping and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities. The role works closely with internal teams and external auditors to maintain compliance and deliver timely financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions and maintain the general ledger.
• Perform account reconciliations for banks, vendors and clients.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare and deliver financial reports to management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws and internal policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors and handle legal and regulatory requirements.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Support procurement processes and purchase order tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
