Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will join Hatahet Group’s HR team in Damascus, supporting the full spectrum of HR activities for a leading FMCG distribution company in Syria. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on implementing policies, managing employee records, and ensuring compliance with local labor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures.
• Keep accurate employee records and ensure compliance with Syrian labor laws.
• Manage recruitment processes, develop job descriptions, and coordinate onboarding and orientation.
• Assist with performance management and employee appraisal cycles.
• Handle employee relations issues, provide guidance, and support conflict resolution.
• Respond to HR inquiries, prepare documentation, and support training and development initiatives.
• Collaborate with department managers to promote a positive work environment and effective communication.

Required profile

• Strong HR management experience supporting core HR processes.
• Experience in HR policies, job description development, and employee relations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of Syrian labor laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and spoken communication in English and Arabic.
• Ability to work on‑site in Damascus, collaborate across teams, and maintain confidentiality.
