About the role
The Information Management and Analytics Analyst will support UNMAS Syria’s mine action programme by ensuring data is accurate, accessible and well‑structured. Working under the senior analyst, the incumbent will help design, maintain and improve databases that underpin operational and programme decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in developing and scaling the Information Management (IM) function within UNMAS Syria.
- Identify data gaps, risks and opportunities and report them to senior staff.
- Design, maintain and improve database structures under technical guidance.
- Document and enhance IM processes, contributing to standard operating procedures.
- Perform database administration tasks including data validation, cleaning, imports, backups and routine quality checks.
- Develop and maintain data collection and validation tools in line with approved methodologies.
- Ensure timely and secure data access for internal stakeholders while complying with data‑sharing policies.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with programme and operations teams.
- Experience supporting data‑driven decision‑making in a humanitarian or development context is an asset.
Required skills
- Database design and architecture.
- Database administration (validation, cleaning, backups, imports).
- Data collection and validation tool development.
- Familiarity with IM processes and documentation.
