Pediatrician – Specialized Doctor for IDA in Northern Deir Alzoor

About the role

The Independent Doctors Association (IDA) seeks a qualified Pediatrician to join its primary health centre in Abu Khashab, Northern Deir Alzoor. The role involves delivering high‑quality child health services within a humanitarian setting and supporting the broader health team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide competent pediatric care according to the schedule set by the Health Coordinator.
• Supervise adherence to national and international treatment guidelines for all physicians.
• Respond to emergencies, organise centre activities and document required treatment information.
• Participate in vaccination campaigns and contribute to weekly and monthly reporting.
• Train and guide medical and nursing staff, and attend daily rounds and coordination meetings.
• Report security concerns, disease outbreaks, and any other relevant issues to the Health and Program Coordinators.
• Uphold patient confidentiality, rights, and dignity while supporting facility improvements.
• Follow instructions from the Medical Director and comply with humanitarian, protection, and organizational policies, including PSEA and Child Protection.

Required profile

• Pediatric Specialist with a minimum of seven years of experience, including residency.
• Demonstrated ability to work in challenging, resource‑limited environments.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles and ethical conduct.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
