Pediatrician (Specialized Doctor) – Northern Deir al-Zor, Syria

About the role

Provides competent pediatric services at the Abu Khashab Primary Health Center in Northern Deir al‑Zor, Syria, under the direction of the Health Coordinator and Medical Director. The role includes clinical care, supervision of treatment guidelines, emergency response, and participation in vaccination campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pediatric care according to the schedule set by the Health Coordinator.
• Supervise implementation of national and international treatment guidelines by all physicians.
• Respond to emergencies, organize centre work, and document additional treatments.
• Participate in vaccination campaigns assigned by the Health Coordinator.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports and contribute to other required documentation.
• Train and guide medical and nursing staff.
• Attend daily medical rounds and weekly coordination meetings, using approved templates for minutes.
• Report difficulties, security concerns, potential infectious disease outbreaks, and other relevant information to coordinators.
• Uphold patient rights, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Contribute to the improvement of the health facility and the organization.

Required profile

• Pediatric Specialist qualification.
• Minimum seven years of experience, including residency.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications.
• Commitment to humanitarian and protection principles, including Code of Conduct, PSEA, and Child Protection.
