Process Safety & Asset Integrity Team Leader

About the role

The Process Safety & Asset Integrity Team Leader is responsible for establishing, implementing and continuously improving process‑safety and asset‑integrity management systems across ADES production assets in Syria. The role ensures that all surface facilities, pipelines, pressure systems, rotating equipment and safety‑critical elements are designed, operated, inspected and maintained to prevent major accident hazards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) and Asset Integrity Management (AIM) systems, major‑accident risk register and safety‑critical element assurance processes.
• Lead HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA, QRA, MOC and PSSR studies for existing facilities, modifications and new projects.
• Oversee risk‑based inspection, pipeline integrity, corrosion and chemical management, as well as inspection and recertification programmes.
• Provide technical direction to field HSE, maintenance and integrity teams and drive closure of audit, inspection and incident actions.
• Lead process‑safety incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, lessons learned and ensure compliance with regulations and international standards.
• Review technical requisitions, scopes, bids, vendor requirements and OPEX/CAPEX budgets; support technical training and competency assurance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering; master’s degree preferred.
• 12‑15 years of upstream oil & gas experience in process safety and/or asset integrity, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of PSM, API 580/581 RBI, corrosion management, API 1160 pipeline integrity and safety‑critical element assurance.
• Fluency in Arabic and English with strong technical leadership and influencing skills.
• Professional engineering or relevant API certifications (PE, CEng, CCPSC) are a plus.
