Program Officer – Wash Program

About the role

The Program Officer will lead the implementation and management of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects in Syria, ensuring that objectives are met while adhering to donor requirements and organisational policies. This position works closely with project teams, partners and stakeholders to maximise impact for beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day execution of assigned WASH projects, monitoring progress against plans and budgets.
• Coordinate project teams, facilitate communication, and ensure timely reporting to donors.
• Conduct quality assurance, risk management and staff capacity‑building activities.
• Collaborate with local partners, authorities and other stakeholders to align efforts and enhance program outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a related field, or a discipline relevant to WASH programmes.
• Project Management certification is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in humanitarian project management.
